15 Day Countdown!
Only 15 days until we find out if our little one is a GIRL or a BOY! Then I can finally move forward to planning his/her babyroom. I feel like I will be more connected knowing if its a girl or boy. Not that there is anything with waiting to find out, but just not my cup of tea. It's still a suprise...just a suprise at 20 weeks!
I've narrowed down my search for bedding. These two are both from Caden Lane Bedding - http://cadenlane.com/

Seventeen Weeks
Here's what's going on this week....
Within the next few weeks it looks like Baby will be growing faster than ever! This week Baby is already almost 5 ounces and this is the week he/she will start putting on some chub. By the way, I would LOVE to have a chunky baby! One of those happy babies with rolls on his/her arms and legs. All the baby books said Baby can begin hearing sounds already. This morning I listened to my baby ipod playlist on the way to work with songs like "Baby Mine" and "Brahm's Lullaby". Unfortunately, I was dozing off with the tunes so I switched it up to a little hip/hop to wake us both up.
Letting go...
This week has also been a week of letting go of my g-strings, thongs and pretty much anything cheeky. I have gradually been moving to bikini panties, but I hadn't taken the full plunge until this week. Thanks to TT Auntie Jessica, she gave me a "Mommy" gift set that included two packages of Maternity Panties "AKA Granny Panties". I was uncomfortable lastnight so I put them on in the middle of night and all could say "OMG!! Why did I wait this long to slip these suckers on!" This new found feeling of comfort has me afraid I might not ever go back. I even went through my panty drawer today and started throwing out thongs. Lance looked at me sadly and tried to convince me to keep a few. He has no clue that I will probably never wear a pair of underwear that wedges up my butt again. Sorry hun!
Sleep Schedule...
11:00 PM - Completely exhausted and fell right to sleep
12:30 AM - Wake up to Pee
1:45 AM - Wake up to Pee. Lance is sleeping like a baby...snoring actually. So jealous.
3:00 AM - Extremely thirsty - sip of water since I don't want to cause another trip to the toilet. Might as well pee right now then. Oh yeah...had a girlscout cookie as a late night snack = )
3:30 AM - LEG CRAMP!!! I think I'm going to die! Just cut my leg off please!
5:00 AM - Stupid Thomas is drinking from the toilet bowl and it woke me up!! The sounds of water makes me want to pee!
7:30 AM - Alarm clock goes off on my day off in the middle of my first dream for the night! So tired!

I should start being able to feel my little baby moving around soon. So far, I've only felt him/her move once and that was when I was jamming out to Taylor Swift's "Love Story". Hmm...maybe I should add Taylor Swift to my baby ipod playlist!

Love at first sight with these baby items!
I think I created a small addiction today! You would NOT believe the world of baby products out there! It's a strange feeling of being overwhelmed and extremely excited to see how many adorable little onesies, hats, and accessories are out there.
I found these adorable little homemade knits for babies. Who wouldn't want their baby rolled into a cute little pod like this one! I have to have one!

16 Week Update

I thought I'd give a little 16 week update on how Little Baby is progressing. I'm sure this is especially helpful for all my single girlfriends who have no clue what happens week by week. Mark my word ladies, when you get pregnant, you'll have the baby books piled next to your bedside too.
How Baby is Growing:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double her weight and add inches to her length. Right now, she's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. Her legs are much more developed, her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved closer to the front of herhead. Her ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her locks aren't recognizable yet. She's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
Your baby is already mugging for the camera as she practices all sorts of facial expressions, such as squinting, yawning and grimacing, which will come in handy when you introduce her to pureed spinach. Check out what else is happening in utero:You're just getting comfortable with being a new mom, but you're actually on the road to being a grandma. If your baby is a girl, her uterus is fully developed and the ovaries already hold primitive egg cells. Did that just make you feel a thousand years old, or what? Your baby's skin is still translucent and wrinkly, not unlike an old man's, but more fat will soon accumulate under the dermas to plump her out. If you could peer inside right now, you'd be able to see all of her veins under her skin.

Your First Photos
Let me start by saying that every Ultrasound Visit is the most exciting experience for us! On your 8 week ultrasound I woke up at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep. It was like the first day of school all over again. We now have these photos as our screensavers. = )

Dear Baby
Although the thought of being a parent hasn't quite totally hit me yet, I can't help thinking of what it will be like to finally have you as part of our lives. I'd like to think that I know a little about parenting (thanks to an amazing family) but the truth is I have NO CLUE! Luckily I have an amazing husband by my side who will be right there with me as we figure it all out together. I'm sure we will both have our fair share of "Oh Crap, are we doing this right?", butI can't wait to embark on this next chapter in our lives.
So Baby, we may not have figured out the key to raising a perfect child, but here a short list of what we do know (I'm speaking for Dad since he's sound asleep at the moment):
1. You will be surrounded by a group of amazing family and friends. Many of these people in your life will love you so much it brings them tears (including me).
2. The combination of your father's family and my family will only mean you will be full of character and a colorful sense of humor. Just wait until Opa's jokes start making sense to you.
3. I'll allow you to get a little dirty and play in the mud and I won't freak out when Thomas gets doggy slobber all over you (even though your grandmothers would have a heart attack).
4. You're life will be full of adventures. Your dad and I love to travel and I already have been thinking of all the places I want to take you.
Okay so that's about the only part of a plan I have so far, but not to worry Dear Baby, just know that all the choices we make for you will be out of the strongest love you can ever imagine. And you will always come first to us.
